What is Minimalist.Travel?

We're devoted to spending our travel dollars and most importantly time where it counts. We'd rather carry a few things that work well, rather than a large suitcase full of "just-in-case" accessories. We want to hit just a few destinations and really enjoy them, and travel low-carbon wherever possible, rather than take whirlwind tours. And we want to help others who hope to do the same, and really dig into the delights that minimalist travel can provide.

Who are you?

Want to see our pretty faces and the other little projects we do? Go find out all about us.

How do you make recommendations?

We travel endlessly, experimenting, road-testing, and seeing things first hand. And we review every scrap of information available, in many languages, before we make a recommendation. We provide links to others' takes too, including those we disagree with, as long as they have something smart to offer.

Why do your social media accounts suck?

We have lives to live.

Why should I trust you?

We never accept payment from product manufacturers or tourist boards. Our little bit of revenue is from the vast world of affiliate networks. So we can recommend pretty much anything that's sold online and when we link to it, if you also buy it, like it, and keep it, we get a small percentage. Our incentive is thus to recommend the most useful possible travel tools, so that you'll come back to us when you need to know more.

How can I support this research?

We love your comments and suggestions, and are constantly updating these articles based on what you beautiful minimalists write in.
