Our editorial opinions are independent of revenue. We don't accept money or freebies in exchange for our praise.

We only talk up the travel stuff and strategies we like and use ourselves; our sad little revenue streams come from affiliate networks. So if something we recommend is available somewhere online and we link to it, you buy it, like it, and you keep it, we get a small percentage. This happens automatically for us, so we don't have to think about it when writing, and it does not cost you extra when shopping.

For example, we use and generally recommend Trainline for booking many types of train tickets, and tell you so. But for whatever reason, some of you also book with Rail Europe, Omio, and even the dreaded SNCF. We get a small affiliate commission if you use any of those links to buy your tickets, even the ones we really don't like so much.

Perversely, a lot of you people also buy frivolities on Amazon using our links after browsing this minimalist site, but even that weirdness also means a tiny affiliate kickback that keeps us rolling.

What is Minimalist.Travel?

We're devoted to spending our travel dollars and most importantly time where it counts. We'd rather carry a few things that work well, rather than a large suitcase full of "just-in-case" accessories. We want to hit just a few destinations and really enjoy them, and travel low-carbon wherever possible, rather than take whirlwind tours. And we want to help others who hope to do the same, and really dig into the delights that minimalist travel can provide.
